I found a computer in the basement recently and I took a look at the hardware. It's running an Pentium 4, motherboard supports overclocking, it has media ports galore, and it has a metric ton of expansion cards. The system is fully loaded and it still works (sort of). I plugged the system in and got into the OS (Win XP) and after shutting the computer down... it wouldn't boot anymore... Somehow the OS got corrupted while installing Steam for the lolz. Formated the hard drive but it doesn't want to install Windows 10 sadly so I was considering selling it.

I can't see the system being worth much in parts since everything is obsolete, but I really like the case and wanted to keep it for a sleeper build that I've been wanting to do. What do you guys think the system is worth (I can get more detailed specs tomorrow)?

It has 512MB of SDRAM.

It has a Pentium 4 that can be run at 1600, 2100 or custom speeds.

It has a 40GB WD hard drive.

Other than that I can't go in and look at the other specs since it has no working OS.

The case is similar in style to the 917B in this image, but I would like to keep the case to make a sleeper build if possible.

It might be worth about 50 dollars. I sold one of my 2 1988 IBM thinkpads for 500 dollars because it's so uncommon to find a fully working one these days that is in almost mint condition. if yours is almost in mint condition, maybe 100 dollars if someone is dumb enough to pay that

Not even parted out? Would take longer to sell but I would like to get a bit of extra money.

I may sell the case to my buddy, he wants to make a sleeper build and he has more money for the project than I do.

if you part it out, it will be worth even less. Anyone that would buy a computer like that most likely wouldn't have the know-how to build one or use different parts.
