Will this modem/router work with my ISP

I recently got Netgears version of a modem router combo and it wouldnt pull an ip address or DNS servers. So i found this one, if anyone has it and thinks it will work or wont please tell me, my ISP is Windstream if anybody else has this device and same ISP. Modem Router combo linked below!!!

EDIT: Somebody said something about a DHCP lease, did i need to remove that before setting up my new modem router combo

Never heard wind stream but I know comcast and cablevision and I think time warner let u use your own modem. u usualy just have to give tjem the make model and mac address.

I remember having to do a similar thing with telus adsl back in the day, you register your router/modem on their network (or they do for you) and then it'll work.  That could be the problem.

 

Or your modem/router could be configured incorrectly, or broken.

I work for a cable co so I know it should work. usuay only set top boxes are locked doen to a specific cable co

Well most ISP's you need to do some sort of authentication, usually done via. PPPo(A/E). It would typically be the same as any login details you have for them.
