Hey guys, I have a problem with my pc. It was a prebuilt bought in 2012 and I've done some basic upgrades to make it run decently. Recently the pc started beeping on startups and most of the time, a restart would rectify the problem or so I thought. So finally the pc decided to give way and I have been getting endless reboots each with 6beeps. From what I have been reading up it seems to be an A20 keyboard controller problem, at first I was assuming my Rams were failing so I kept trying to reseat them then trying placing only one of the 4 at a time to see if I have a faulty ram. It didn't work and well now, I have a feeling I've gotta replace the mobo. It's an acer IPIMB-AR rev1.02A mobo with a i7 3770 processor. So should I just get the mobo replaced or can there be something else causing this problem? I hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.image.jpg

Just put CPU+Cooler and turn on the PC.
If it beeps it means your mobo is fine, if not ( sadly ) you need a new one.

Yea I've tried that. It's beeping. I just wanted to get a second opinion. And well I guess I gotta get a new one.

It's using a seperate gpu. I already tried switching GPUs to see if it was the problem but the beeping was there for both gpus. So I am very certain it's mobo related. Gotta get a replacement.

Most likely mobo, yes. Do try to reset CMOS and perhaps even try a spare PSU if you have one, just in case.

I did reset CMOS but it didn't help. Psu wise I haven't got a spare. Gotta go with my gut and just get a new mobo. Thanks for your input :))
