Hey guys,

I recently built the following PC:

1080 SLI (no overclock) Founders Edition

i7-6800K 3.4 GHz

64 GB RAM (2x 32 GB Crucial)

1440p monitor @ 144 Hz

EVGA X99

EVGA Supernova 1000W 80+ PLAT

2 Way Long EVGA SLI Bridge

I've been receiving some very poor performance on Rise of the Tomb Raider on max settings. Somewhere between 40-55 FPS with SLI enabled.

I'm guessing something is causing a bottleneck and I'm wondering what it is....There is no way I'm only able to get that low FPS with that build unless something is off.

Thanks!

What do you mean by update driver? Which driver and how do I update it?

It could just be a bug/glitch and poorly optimised. Sometimes games perform worst when SLI is enable if they don't support it very well..

It's weird because I've seen benchmark videos and reports like dexxterlab97 posted but my PC does not perform at that high level. All those vids and reports had SLI enabled.

There shouldnt be a bottleneck but did you make sure that SLI is ENABLED in your BIOS settings? Also hyperthreading should be preset to on but that is important too

SLI is enabled as per the NVIDIA Control Panel. Is that sufficient?

Thanks all!

No bottleneck. Bottleneck would be a component which is maxed while another isn't used even to 50% and you'd be getting bad fps. I doubt your CPU is maxed out.

I see. So what else can be causing very bad FPS for the game? I should be getting 20-30 more FPS given this build and not sure what's happening....

Drivers, like said. Meaning GPU drivers. Try different versios. Newest official, newest beta, few versio's back etc.

I updated the  GPU driver to the newest one but the problem is not yet solved. Might there be a fault with the game install?

When you say max settings, do you mean that you have literally everything turned up as high as it goes?  You might be running in Nvidia super resolution, which is where the game is rendered in a higher resolution for better anti-aliasing.  If that's the case you'd be having the same performance as running the game negatively on a much higher resolution display.
