ACPI.sys missing or corrupted

Hi,

 

I recently had performed a Windows Update on my HP laptop. I shut it off before it was done (Pretty stupid of me), and now it will not boot. It keeps coming up with a message saying ACPI.sys is corrupted and I'll need to use recovery tools.

 

Can someone please help me fix this?

ACPI is the SATA controller. id say run the repair option with HP recovery tools.

Do you mean Startup Repair in Windows? I tried that, it still comes up with the same message.
