This is correct, BUT unless you can find some cheap RAM, the difference between 2133mhz and 2400mhz is very small (typically less than 1 or 2 FPS from the benchmarks I looked at).

for systems with dedicated graphics cards the difference is minimal. with apu's however it is veery noticeable. check out the vid that was linked in the post...

This video (I watched the whole thing) is showing the difference between 1600mhz and 2400mhz. I do not doubt that is a big increase, I am saying the difference between 2133mhz and 2400mhz does not really justify the price increase in a budget build like this.

i need an cooler below 45mm

I think even that cooler is going to be tight, have you also factored the cost of the mods necessary into the budget?

I would honestly open up the 64 first and get a bearing of what you are working with, don't forget about stand off height + mobo thickness + socket + cpu + cooler. The gap at best as I can see it is 50mm which isn't a lot of room to play with. Before ordering parts I would seriously have a good look inside (also you will need to cut out the entire rear of the case and fab a new rear + i/o panel).

I do want to see this work because neat builds like this are amazing I just honestly think you might be pushing it for a tight budget (my current console case editing rig) has a budget of $800 AUD + hardware to give you an example of how quickly things can add up (admittedly I will probably spend $300 of that on shipping for parts that I just can't get locally because Australia is a prick in that if you aren't in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane you might as well live in a third world country because nothing is available.

Some more measurements for you based on an old FM2 board I have here, bottom of mobo to top of audio jacks on the rear I/O is 40mm, add an extra 5mm for stand off you are sitting bang on your 45mm mark.

Board is 2mm thick, cpu + socket is 5mm (to top of IHS), cooler at 37mm, stand off at 5mm puts you at 49mm. Then you need to hack the top of the case to allow it to actually draw in air. Even if you lap 1.5mm off the IHS that still sits you at 47.5mm. Maybe if you find a mini itx FM2 board with the cpu in a position right over near the ram to take advantage of the extra height at the front of the 64 you might be able to pull it off.

Sorry if it sounds like i'm being an asshole here and being negative I just feel that on a limited budget it isn't going to happen (unless you do the modding over a period of time and look at hardware investment once the case is complete).
