Aspect Ratio

I am somewhat lost on aspect ratios and I have a big question: Ro all games support all aspect ratios? I undestand, that 16:9 is the standard if you will, bit do all games support ultrawide gaming? I don't want my games to look weird on an ultrawide monitor, and I don't want black bars on either side of my game either...

Most games support 16:9 unless they are really old or are meant to be done like that for art purposes. Ultra wide is supported by a few games but with some you may find cut scenes to have black bars on the side.

Only cutscenes? I could live with that, but what about the actual game?

Not to say every cutscene in every game. But some cutscenes are pre-rendered in 16:9 and thus they will have black bars. But as Glenwing said, the majority of games do support 21:9.
