For something like that your not going to be able to find regular AC to DC power bricks for laptop since most don't come in such high wattage unless you have two units feeding it in parallel.

Highest is 240W, I have been looking for the last hour or so.

Not to sure what you would need to do in order to parallel two adapters.

I have put in series 3 MeanWell power supplies to up the voltage, but parallel ups the wattage power. Maybe just a common ground.

Maye use one adapter to power half of what you got, then the second adapter to power the other half of what you got.

I doubt power bricks aka adapters are an issue. Its the DC-DC ATX wattage that is the issue.

 

Not per say what the ideal is, but thinking outside the box.

I remember reading some forum board "guru" elsewhere, series and/or paralleling multiple adapters. But who knows what the size difference is.

It was all about grounding the units.


Even mousers AC Adapter is peaked at 300W. Two units are 280W and is $130cdn, then the price jumps more then double. Even filtered down to 250W, cheapest is still $130cdn.

 

I think those Pico PSU's are made for low power, unless you custom make something, like custom dual bricks interconnection and a custom converter architecture. Not sure if its just suppling the voltage required, or if there is more to it like signal quality, and grounding. Probably very technical. But even the Pico PSU's are tiny, the PCB boards anyway. Otherwise just a splitter from 19V to the required would be needed.

 

I found this website, using high wattage DC-DC converters. Looks like an interesting way to go.

The DC-DC is more logical way to go.

 

If you want to find a video on connecting 2 laptop adaptors up together, look at the Ypedal Youtube channel.

 

He series them though.

That's a nicely machined build, but here he used a 20V 350W Gigantic external brick, which would be very costly to two desperate power bricks as he points out.
