Hello

So today I bought a ASUS R7 360 2GB (Brand new out of the store) and came home to put it in my build.

My monitor has a VGA output and the graphics card has a DVI one,but I "thankfully" had an adapter which you might guess - doesn't work. The screen is black.

So I connected my monitor cable to my motherboard and then the picture came and everything works fine but my PC doesn't recognize the GPU but rather the integrated one in my

Processor/Motherboard,but the GPU's fans are working even though it's not connected to the monitor.

So I want to know whether if I get a proper adapter and connect the GPU to the monitor will it recognize it and work properly?

The Motherboard is an GIGABYTE 78LMT-USB3 DDR3

Thanks for the help.

There's two kinds of DVI, maybe you have the wrong adapter? Also, try plugging cable into card before boot if you haven't, may need to let the motherboard detect the card from boot to load generic driver, then after successful boot download proper driver.

Also, you may have to uninstall current display driver then reboot with cable plugged into card to have it load the generic driver first.

CPU: AMD Sempron 2400+ / MOBO: Abit NF7-S2G / GPU: WinFast A180BT 64MB / RAM: Mushkin DDR333 256MBx2 / HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 120GB

I am pretty sure it is,I have Windows 7 which is required.

And do I enter BIOS with the VGA plugged into my motherboard(Since when it is plugged in the GPU,the screen is black)? It may be a stupid question but oh.

hook the monitor to the motherboard. go into the bios and make the changes ( see your motherboard booklet ). don't forget to same the changes as the machine is rebooting you can hot swap the vga cable from the motherboard into the graphics card.

( i guess in your case if you have the vga/dvi cable plugged into the card just pull the hdmi cable from the back of the board ).

another thing I may be missing if it's been changed ( finally ) is the inclusion of the vga connection. it may no longer be supported. if that's the case you need to get a newer monitor. ( and maybe you can borrow or take your machine to a friend or neighbors house to test this )"?

I will try what you suggested, but unfortunately I can't test it anywhere since I just recently moved into a different country. And yes,it's come to my mind that VGA may not be supported anymore
