Old MacBook hard drive

Go to solution Solved by m0k,

Can you try accessing/copying the files through Ubuntu instead?
Ubuntu has worked for me every time

I have an old MacBook that doesn't turn on anymore and wanted to get some of the files off it. I took out the hard drive out and opened it in Linux mint, I can get to the files, but I need permission to access them. I can also open the files on a PC, but again, I still need permission. Any help would be great, thanks.

Yep! that worked, thanks!

Also, you most likely just needed to elevate yourself to Root, as the Ownership/Permissions data on the HDD was still all set from the Mac OS X installation. Glad you got it working though.
