212 evo Fan

normpearii

So my 212 Evo's fan is making an significantly loud, high pitched whine (Perfectly changes with CPU Fan RPM, plus the fan plugged into another motherboard produces the same sound.)

Should I try to have the fan Warranty Replaced? or should I just say screw it and buy a better fan. (Have never dealt with Cooler Master's Customer Service before...)

Edit: Cooler was purchased on the 30th of December 2015. So it has 15ish months left.

Sound isn't too important, I have a window A/C unit behind my desk and 8 high flow fans in the case anyway. It's the high pitch of it that's annoying.

You can use any 120mm fan. Id just buy or use a cheap one.

You can try their rma, but its not worth the hassle for me, esp since i have a pile of fans.

Try contacting Cooler Master to get a replacement.

A half decent SP fan isn't really all that expensive, and would probably be an upgrade over the stock 212 fan. You COULD contact Coolermaster and get a replacement, but with how long that would probably take and the hassle involved in doing so you could just spend 5-10 bucks and have one shortly (and it could even be LED or some shit), or spend a bit more than that for even a fan upgrade.

I had a faulty usb cable for my CM keyboard, they very quickly responded and sent me a new one from the states took roughly a week for me to get it and it had to come thru customs so i'd say that's relatively fast.  So I'd say its up to you your probably not going to see a huge difference with another fan so upgrading or getting a replacement from CM is up to you.

I would talk Cooler master but it would not help to put any 120mm fan to make it stand out.
