hi i am going to build a new pc for the first time and wanted some thoughts on it. it will primarily be used for gaming and recording

i am building it because all i have is a laptop and it is no use for gaming

the parts are : processor = amd fx 8350 (will maybe overclock when i get a better cooler)

                   motherboard = asus m5a97 r2.0

graphics card = vtx3d radeon 7870 tahiti le

ram = corsair vengeance 2x4gb 1600 mhz kit

hard drive = seagate barracuda 500gb

psu = corsair builder series 500w semi modular

i dont need a monitor and i dont need a keyboard and mouse.

What's your budget?

My Pc: Cpu: I7 4790k @ 4,8 Ghz @1,25 volts, Motherboard: Maximus VII Formula, Graphicscard: 2x Titan X @1,4 at stock voltage (soon to be replaced), Ram: 32 gb Corsair Dominator Platinum 2133 Cl 9, SSD: 2x 850 Pro 1 Tb in Raid 0, 2x Samsung 840 Evo 1 tb raid 1,, PSU: Corsair HXi Series 1000W 80+ Platinum, Case: H440. Soon to be watercooled again, maybe, probably, the Titans are too loud.

-Get a 1TB HDD for like £10 more.

-Save £30 and get a 8320

-Put the extra £30 into a 7950

Other than that pretty good.

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 @ Stock, CPU cooler: Dark Rock 4, Motherboard: MSI B450M PRO-M2 MAX, RAM: 2x8GB Crucial Ballistix DDR4 @ 3000Mhz, GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 ACX 3.0, SSD: Crucial P1 1TB M.2 + 2x120GB SSDs, Case: Corsair 110R, PSU: Corsair TX650M, OS: Windows 10 64-bit.

I agree with classics, better safe than sorry when it comes to HDD space. Also it is worth the wait for slightly better components in my opinion.

I am on my second build atm, but for my first one I cheaped out on parts and regreted it. Patience is one feature in a system builder that rewards you for every second.

Also, we would like to know your budget please.

8350 is better and the tahiti le version of the 7870 when overclocked is about the same as the 7950 an i think i will get the 1tb hdd

8350 is the same chip, just stock clocked 0.2Ghz higher.. And you could OC a 7950 and get similar performance to a 7970.
