Two more 120GB SSD's.

If you added the 240GB SSD, you'd only get 3x120GB not 4x120, and waste 120GB's from the 240GB SSD.

Also, if your mobo only has 2 SATA III ports you'll have to use SATA II ports for the next two SSD's, might factor in your decision(s).

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.

IdeaStormer is right. And if you only have 2 SATA 3's, you will see serious performance loss by using SATA 2's for the additional drives, although I guess 4 SSD's in RAID 0 even on SATA 2 is pretty frikin fast...

thank you for info.

i have an asus sabertooth z77, 4x SATA-300, 4x SATA-600. but 2 of the 4  sata 600 are on an other chip set, does it matter?

Yes, the dual raid controllers does matter, you may have 4 SATA III ports but they are on different controllers so you can't have them all on the same raid array. You can do 2 SATA III's and 2 SATA II's that are on the same controller.

Just checked your Sabertooth Mobo's second controller doesn't list RAID features so you can't use those for the RAID 0.

Get a 480 GB SSD, and sell your old ones. A 4-drive RAID 0 is a huge risk of failure for not much performance gain in real-world situation.

not per say, if you use windows disk management or some other os you can also add a software raid witch can spawn across difrent chipsets

also not all difrent chipsets dont work in this way i can use all my 6 ports for 1 raid i have tryed

however this did destroy post time for me xD

i have a different motherboard and a different raid controller but al 6 sata ports show up in the raid controller when i wanted to set ir up but i do have 2 ports on a marvel controller and 4 on an amd controller but i could make a cross platform raid just as if it was one controler. Could set it up just as if it was one no problem.
