Pc boot and shut down time extremely long

Since today, my pc is booting really slow and shuts down really slow ( multiple minutes with pciE ssd).

It looks like my windows is broken (cant get into automatic repair, control panel wont start up, origin acts really odd...)

Do you guys have a suggestion other than clean install win 10?

My current rig:

Sounds like a possible virus. See if you can open task manager and see what's taking up your juice.

If it's a virus problem, a clean install of win10 SHOULD be your only route. By clean I mean format the drive with a different computer saving only valuable documents and your win10 license key.

Would be odd if it is a virus. Problem started today, but only went on youtube and played some league. Ill do an anti virus scan, and will look at the results.

Some (intelligent) viruses can act as sleeper cells and activate a while after being installed. If you don't think it's a virus however, then I'd recommend simply checking out what's using your resources in task manager, and removing anything you can spare.

DO NOT defragment your SSD in an attempt to make it faster. SSDs purposefully distribute their bitz and bytz in order to prevent wear and tear on isolated locations.

I will. I only cant understand why that makes my boot times and shut down times so long. The long boot time is the windows icon with the circle ( keeps spinning). If I am at the login screen, everything is as fast as ever.

Thaks for the not defragmantation bit, didnt know that one :).

I'm not sure what would cause that... That's a weird mix of speeds. The best advice I can give you is disable as many startup programs as possible, and keep your hard drive clean.

Like I said, probably my win 10 instalation which is broken. Isnt the first time this happened to me. Reinstalled at least 10 times a clean install, after which 9/10 lroblems are gone. Im just sick of reinstalling so often :p.

After some troubleshooting, the problem was that one of my drives was dying (D:).

Now everything is fast as ever :).
