Depends.

Dxtory is an excellent raw capture method. As well as having the video outputs that can be used as video sources in OBS/Xsplit, great for capturing Raw and streaming without the livestream quality on recording.

OBS is a great free streaming software, while xsplit is a great paid streaming software with some great extra features that are much harder to setup yourself on OBS (Local Streaming to another instance of Xsplit ect.)

Fraps is pretty dated at this point.

I mean, they literally all do the job they are intended for.

mirillis works the best for me and depending on the game is uses between 250MB to 3 gigs of space per recorded minute where fraps was  ~2 gigs at the  very least for me,

bandicam just wouldn't work propperly for me for some odd reason, also a license is only like 50 dollar for commercial use. never realy liked obs for recording but great for streaming and never tried the other software.

OBS is good for streaming but imo its crap for recording I have many problems with it

It is streaming software, it literally saves a copy of the stream quality output to file.

Re-read my edited previous post. You can use Dxtory to record the raw footage, while outputting it back out to OBS or XSplit for streaming.

I personally do this for 1440p @ 60 FPS recording while streaming at 1080p 30 or 720p 30/60
Though the lower the saving bitrate is in DXtory, the more it nukes your CPU. I think I currently use 50 MB/s
