psu failed twice

My psu failed quietly while I was waking it up from sleep mode

my pc is a 5year old
Asus p8z68 gen 3
I5 2500
Hd 5750
Corsair ax750
I tested the volts paperclip style only one was working was 5vsb so I rma the psu got a ax760 put it in 2 days later the same thing happened when I woke it up form sleep died that same way only the 5v working
Could my mobo be killing my psu or what?

Those are high quality psu's and shouldnt be failing. If you have another mobo, test the psu's. If not go to a computer repair shop and they can help you. Not much people online can tell you without seeing a psu and i doubt anyone here is an expert on psu's.

Check how much watts the computer is trying to draw from the psu. It could be from the parts becoming old and capacitors age to the point where it draws more than the psu.
