Custom Audio Drivers ...and stuffs

Okay programmers, i have a question.

i want custom drivers/firmware for my sound card and have had zero luck finding anything on the interwebz. basically what i want to do is boost the output past spec, if it burns up i could care less, its a rocket fish 5.1 from best buy, like 20 bucks.

any ideas where to start?

i have almost zero programming knowledge, but i can learn.

i am also looking to crack my Logitech x-540's open and start replacing pots, resisters, coils and anything else that looks like it needs an upgrade. and if they dont work when im done, OH WELL! they are like 4 years old and gotta go if i cant make them better.

Just upgrade straight away...

What you're trying to do is:

I have never heard of custom audio drivers, or custom drivers of any sort before, I really doubt it can be done, however if you do find out how, post the link here, because I am a bit curious now :P

There are custom graphics drivers, in Linux for instance.

@sTizzl

You can create your  own drivers, but it's not easy at all.

You have to know how to build/compile drivers for your architecture/OS and, more importantly, reverse engineer the communication protocol for your card.

But I'm not sure you can boost whatever with the drivers. Maybe changing the firmware on the card, but that's a whole other subject, possibly even more complicated than the drivers and probably impossible.

you can do it, but it's not recommended, or easy
