is 1440p worth it

I have a pc good enough for 1440p and a 27inch 1080p is 1440p worth it or should i just get the same 1080p monitor to replace my 25inch 1080 that is trash

If you're really into cs:go, or any other fps game that would benefit, then maybe look into a 144hz 1080p 24" tn panel. Buuut, there are IPS 1080p panels at similar prices, buuut there are also 27" 2k panels around that price. What's the budget?

I jumped from 1080 to 1440 IPS and for me its amazing. But isnt a budget monitor, MG279Q. Very happy with it, absolute no regrets

i use sony vegas as long as a game is near 60 or above i don't care

It really depends. If you're ready to turn one or two settings down, then 2k it is. If you want to run at higher than high settings, then 1080p.
