Need help taming a process.

Here's the deal: there's this annoying "System and compressed memory" that's eating up a ton of CPU cycles and I want to solve that. I've tried most solutions online (malware, disable windows tips, update drivers) and the thing still sucks up an entire core out of my machine - nothing worked. So I decided to get creative.

At first, I thought about trying to limit is CPU usage. Problem is, the thing is a SYSTEM level process, and none of the programs I tried could mess with it. I can't go into task manager and set priority to low either; again, it's a system level thing. And I don't feel confident enough to just delete the ntoskrnl.exe file that the process comes from, I fear I might brick my OS doing so.

So if anyone knows of a solution, I'm open for ideas. Please. There's just no reason for that thing to turn my 6600k into a triple core CPU rather than a quad core.

Make an image of your OS using Macrium Reflect to an external drive.

After that, go into safe mode and see if it's still there. If it is, it's system level and should require a reinstallation. If not, go ahead and reboot and delete it.
