So this is the first time will be building a computer. I'm upgrading from my current notebook (Asus N56vj-dh71). I'm aiming for silent gaming build, as web browsing and gaming is mostly what I do on my computer.

Budget: I'd like to keep it under USD$2,000, but if I go a little over so be it

Aim: Silent gaming/web browsing with some future proof-ness.

Peripherals: I currently own a Razer Deathadder Black Edition which aside from needing its feet replaced serves me brilliantly. I plan on getting a Corsair K70, after tinkering around with one at a local electronics store.

Monitor: Single monitor setup. This has been the hardest part for me so far, because I have little to no experience with all the various types of monitors, but I know I don't want anything too big (24" maximum) nor terribly expensive

Why am I upgrading?: Well the old girl I'm currently using starting to reach the end of her life as well as the hardware becoming increasingly irrelevant.

Games I plan on running: I currently play a lot of Dota 2, but I plan on playing Overwatch with this new build as well as hopefully getting Batman: Arkham Knight to run.

Additional Notes: I'm not interested in having the latest whizz-bang RGB everything kind of parts, as I'm not a very showy person. I just want quality parts that should last.

While I have added some overclock-able parts to my parts list, I don't know if I'll actually overclock them as I've never done it before.

From what I've found the 6TB version seem to the best dollars per GB. But I honestly wouldn't mind going down to 3-4TB.

I'm sorry, but I dont really understand the point these parts changes.

For example:

Why the I7-6700k? I doubt i'd effective utilize the extra power/cores/threads

Why should I switch to a Z170 Pro Gaming over the Z170 Pro I already have picked out? What am I gaining/losing?

I hope I don't come across as rude

Notes:

1. Get Windows off Kinguin or something.

2. The monitor is 25" so I hope you don't mind it.

3. If you really need 6tb of storage you can swap out the cooler for the Noctua one and replace the 2tb one (which is ample for most PC uses) for a 6tb one. I really can't see a use for 6tb unless you are storing a LOT of 4k content.

4. Kept the color scheme of your existing build so yeah

5. If you have questions, please reply; Good Luck!

1. For $2000 you should consider looking at the i7, sure the i5 is not bad but if you got the $ why not i7? Plus games are starting to ultilize more cores/thread

2. Because it's cheaper and doesn't cut short of important features, but if you prefer white I'd get the Z170 A
