Alright, I've got a 3x120mm aio cooler from frostbyte, and a 6950x cpu that I have not overclocked, however it turbo clocks itself to 3.5 ghz and runs at 3ghz normally when not in use, I idle at 40c, and when stress testing with cpu-z am getting up into the mid-high 70s. I should be getting better performance than this and am worried, what can I do? Ambient temperate in my room is 70-75.

CPU: Intel i7 6950x  Motherboard: Asus Rampage V Extreme Memory: Corsair Dominator Platinum 64GB 3000MHZ. GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080 TI X2 SLI

Case: Corsair Obsidian 800D

Not an expert on this, but you didn't have any replies so...

Honestly not sure if those are normal temps. It is a ten-core, after all. Stress-testing programs like CPU-z usually push CPUs far beyond their day-to-day operating maximums, but still. Make sure you thermal paste is properly applied and that it makes good contact. Noob advice, I know. There are quite a few things that could be wrong, your cooler pump might be damaged, or your CPU is bad.

Playing borderlands 2 gets CPUs into 50s-60s C

my room isn't exactly cool, I'm gonna get some compressed air and blow everything out, and possibly re-apply thermal paste

Are we talking Celsius or Fahrenheit? Because if it's F, your CPU is not too hot, and if it's C, you need to leave that room asap :P

The room itself can be anywhere from 70-80 Fahrenheit, the cpu under stress test in cpu-z goes anywhere from 60-76 celcius, mostly upper 60s-74 Celsius. The odd thing is, cpu-z is not putting 100% stress on the cpu, it does for a while but then bounces around. I highly doubt the cpu is throttling. The other odd thing is that it says the individual cores are running at 4000mhz, but in performance in task manager it says 3.18ghz. Which one is it?
