Laptop display issues

So my friend bought a cheap computer off of ebay

It is currently suffering from some screen issues

I tried updating the graphics drivers, but that had no impact

I think it has to do with the graphics in the apu. Although, when I plug it into another monitor, it displays the image normally on that monitor

Maybe the screen is just bad?

Having worked as a repair technician in a retail technology store, I would say the screen or LCD cable is defective in the unit.

We had similar laptops come in, some even after less than a year, that had similar display oddities. External monitors worked fine though.

Either send a message to the seller, open a dispute with eBay, or post the link to the eBay listing here so I can take a look for you.
