cpu-z benchmark problem

playing around at first with my i5-6600k on the msi m7 motherboard i was able to achieve a 4.4ghz on auto voltage getting a cpu-z score of 8500. But after a couple of days the number has dropped to 7500 with no addition programs installed and nothing running in the background. Anyone know why this is? ive tried reinstalling windows and i got around 8500 again to start but it fell to 7500 again after a few days.

Auto voltage may put way too much voltage to the cpu, and it isn't recommended when overclocking, manually dialing the voltage in is a lot better.

 

Also try something like Cinebench on it, and see if that has the same issue.

cinebench gives me consistent scores and ive tried dialing in the voltage and even testing at a lower clock and still. after about a day i lose almost 1000 in my cpu-z score
