Need help with ssd

i just bought a samsung evo 1 tb ssd but it is not delivered with a sata cable.

i already have a sata 2 3gbs cable. but should i buy a new sata 6gbs cable or will the performance be the same. will the 3gbs cable give me the full 500 mb/s read speed or will only the 6gb/s cable give me that

i have an x-99 mobo so it supports sata 3 devices

I would get a 6gb/s.

Just use your old one. The difference in speed is really not noticable for everyday use. Only reason people would want the new cable is when they do heavy file transfer on a daily basis.
