Hello, I have been researching server components for a personal server build project. This is partly inspired by linus' video on that $150 8 core CPU build. Note all of this is in AUD.

These are the parts I have come up with:

CPU(S): http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Intel-Xeon-E5450-Processor-Quad-Core-CPU-only-/172204972367?hash=item281837594f:g:arQAAOSwN81XNYj4

Motherboard :http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Intel-S5000VSA4DIMM-BSA2VBB-Dual-LGA771-Refurbished-Server-Board-/261922168898?hash=item3cfbc72042:g:NjMAAOSwv0tVduNI
Memory: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Hynix-32GB-8X4GB-PC2-5300P-2Rx4-DDR2-667MHz-ECC-REG-Registered-SERVER-Memory-/152207761756?hash=item23704a215c:g:zmQAAOSwgZ1XsZCO

Power Supply: http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/city-beach/components/zippy-r2w-6460p-2u-460w-power-supply/1115009301

Chassis: http://cplonline.com.au/rack-mountable-server-chassis-case-2u-650mm-depth-with-atx-psu-window-no-psu.html?gclid=COCw7ubE684CFQsjvQodlFYKOg

Would all of these parts be compatible? I know the PSU doesn't really have to be redundant, but I think it would be something cool to have. I also wonder if that PSU would be able to power those 2 cpus?

Btw, I wouldn't be buying hard drives or raid cards until i've got all this stuff.

Thanks in advance.

Quick check looks like they'd all work though I have no idea about anything to do with the PSU having the power and if it'd fit properly or anything. Just make sure you also have cooling or it comes with the case and everything.

Spoiler

Q: Do I have a virus?!
A: If you didn't click a sketchy email, haven't left your computer physically open to attack, haven't downloaded anything sketchy/free, know that your software hasn't been exploited in a new hack, then the answer is: probably not.

Q: What email/VPN should I use?
A: Proton mail and VPN are the best for email and VPNs respectively. (They're free in a good way)

Q: How can I stay anonymous on the (deep/dark) webzz???....

A: By learning how to de-anonymize everyone else; if you can do that, then you know what to do for yourself.

Q: What Linux distro is best for x y z?

A: Lubuntu for things with little processing power, Ubuntu for normal PCs, and if you need to do anything else then it's best if you do the research yourself.

Q: Why is my Linux giving me x y z error?

A: Have you not googled it? Are you sure StackOverflow doesn't have an answer? Does the error tell you what's wrong? If the answer is no to all of those, message me.

I have looked and it seems the PSU will fit in the case. It seems the case comes with 4 fans. I will also have to get cpu coolers too.
