Premiere Pro Keyframing issue

So I want to change a piece of text to purple and do so using an effect rather than having potentially to different coloured titles. But for some reason when the effect is active it seems to jump to the end of the keyframes. as this little bit of text has some motion to it. Basically is scales down and moves up. But it also did it with the crop effect too. But I have been able to apply blur no problem. 

 

Can you help?
