Cheers, will probably try and get an air cooler, if i bump into any more problems ill probably attempt switching out the power supply temporaraly to see what happens. :)

Your power supply should be your number one priority right now. I cannot stress enough that you should get a better one. It's not worth the added risk of potentially frying all your components. It's either £50 for a new PSU or tonnes more for the whole lot.

Ever since i created my pc 2 years ago I have been experiencing crashes when under heavy loads.

The crashes have a nature of turning the display either orange, orange with green lines, green with green lines or just black. Noise is also outputted to the current audio device.

Does anybody have any ideas on how i could solve this?

GPU: ASUS R9 270X (2GB RAM)

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670 @ 3.4GHz (Stock cooled)

Ram: 8Gb

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z87 HD3

PSU: Cooler master GX 650w

Have you tried checking your stock cooler for dust build up? Have you checked CoreTemp for the Tj. Max and your idle/under load temps too?

My PC crashes sometimes under heavy load but this is due to my processor heating up to the TJ. Max Threshold, shutting itself down, might be the same problem with yours and because it's a stock cooler too.

Can you still hear audio when it crashes? If so it will most likely be your GPU either overheating or dying in general. If it's overclocked then it'll be that more than likely as well.

I cannot see any real buildup of dust on the cooler or elsewhere in the pc.

Gonna try and get some temp graphs from when the computer fails in game.

Audio completely fails when crashed, just noise (sometimes no audio at all).

My GPU is factory overclocked so I don't see why that could have a problem. Would it be worth under'clocking from this?

Cheers

Okay so I did some research into your power supply as it's the only thing I can think of through a process of elimination here.

According to Johnny Lucky's PSU lemon list (s**t PSU list), the Cooler Master GX-650 is on there, with failed efficiency test and failed load testing. Also poor DC output quality from the 3.3V rails.

You've gone two years with this PSU, I'd recommend replacing it with one from this list here. You're damn lucky it hasn't fried your components yet to be quite honest.

I have a good feeling that I need to upgrade from my stock cooler to something bigger, after stress testing for about 2 mins on the battlefield beta, cpu temp rose to 85 degrees c.

85 degrees Celsius is not that bad for your processor. Apparently the Tj. Max is 105 degrees, so it would be worth it though to get an aftermarket cooler. For budget I'd recommend the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo. I have a similar model (the TX3 Evo has wider aluminium fins but less copper heat pipes) and it works fantastically. If you're looking to splash some cash on an air cooler, I'd recommend the Noctua NH-D15. It packs a serious punch however is quite large as my friend has one and the copper cooling pipes almost touch the side panel of his case. For liquid cooling, I'd recommend an AIO from the likes of Corsair or Cooler Master, or even EKWB or Thermaltake as I've heard they have some really nice triple fan AIO's.

Ill check if i have a spare psu to see if it is the problem.
