Adapter Problems

So I was scouting the Norweagian version of Cragislist in hope to find a new GPU back in July, my then current setup with r9 380 was to loud for me.

To my luck I find a RX480 that a guy had bought that didnt fit in his case, made a deal so i got my XFX RX 480 OC Black 8 GB for pretty much the same price as in the US and it had 0 run time :D

It has all been jolly good with the card, fitted my g10 on it and added a extra fan for the vrms, but lately i have had problems with my second display, sometimes when i do multitasking it goes black, this often happens when i play LOL or do heavy photo work and switches between different types of photo editing tools. I was lazy and didnt want to wait for a DP->HDMI Adapter and just used the one i got with the card wich is to dvi, and from dvi to HDMI. (I know Stupid).When this started to happend i restarted, changed DP prot etc... with various luck, now i have found out if i take out the dp adapter and disconnect the dvi-hdmi adapter from it, then put it back togheter my second screen pops up the very instant i plug it in. What i wanna know is waht causes this and waht can be done to fix it?
