So I bought a white cablemod LED strip today to give my PC some much deserved bling. However I'm a bit confused on how to plug it in. It has two sides where a sata power cable might go. The one that says Sata power on it won't fit my sata power cable, however the one labeled M Sata does, so I plugged that in. I then ran the little 4 pin cable from the power module to the strip itself and plugged that in. However the strip also came with a little cable that's 4-pin male to 4-pin male again. What is this for? Am I missing something? Being my paranoid self I want to make sure before I power on the system.

Them double posts though...

It's not a widebeam, just a single color with no remote/control of any kind. But I think this confirms I did it right. I think I'll power on, don't see anything bad happening.

They are LEDs so they will only allow power through the right way anyway

Certainly worth considering.  Can they be set to purple and stay that way unless changed by the user?

They sure can - will be no problem at all - here is a video introducing our LED Strips:

Thank you for showing that to me.  I'll definitely keep that in mind.  It certainly looks better than the crap LED strips that came in my desktop.  ?
