Hi guys, I just put together my new PC which includes a Asus Hero MOBO, 6700k, 32gb ram, Win10 64, but i used my old Asus video GTX 660 Ti. My issues is and i been only playing WoW (prepping for legion) is a stuttering pause in the game. When i login in and move i get a split second pause then normal about 4 times then stops . Then randomly while i was raiding i would get a pause here and there. Or worse is when i get endless stuttering. E.g. The game just freeze, go, freeze, go, 2 seconds freeze, 2 seconds go. So i quit the game and in desktop i keep getting this until reboot. Only once it froze up during the endless stuttering and i had to use restart button. So my guess it its the video. I went to Asus support and saw there is VBIOS v1.0 but the utility is only for early version of windows . I tried GPU tweak II but the icons for live update and others seem to be missing compared to other version i saw searching gputweak Ii on google image.

My current bios according to info tweakII shows  VBIOS 80.04.4b.00.as07

I;m not sure if there is a setting wrong or if a update bios would help me. I did;nt plan to upgrade my video until next year with a new monitor GPU. Any help much appreciated.

Why are you building a new PC and keeping such an old card? Especially considering the quality of your new components. You could get a nice new card like a GTX 1060 or a 480 for 200$, hell you could even get a previous gen one in rebate because people are selling them to update to the new cars. Iv'e seen a few good deals on GTX 9xx (considering you seem to play games like WoW which you don't need the most performing one).

CPU: Intel Core i9-10900K  MOBO: ROG MAXIMUS XII FORMULA GPU: 2080ti Hall of Fame 10th anniversary limited edition  PSU: Asus ROG THOR 1200W  COOLER: Optimus foundation black acetal RADS: 3x EKWB CoolStream PE 360  LOOP: EKWB torque HDC fittings / EKWB ZMT 15,9/9,5mm / EKWB CryoFuel Clear MONITOR: Acer predator X34

age of card shouldn't matter unless it was defective prior to putting in new build.

I see the board has on board video.

did you check to BIOS to see if there is a conflict or if it was aimed at the pci slot vs on board?

is the proper pci-e slot enabled ( 1st slot may not be enabled on some boards ).

if you still have problems.......... shut down, pull card. plug into board. do some tasks and see what happens.

did you check for sound driver conflicts?

did you install the motherboard drivers off the disc?

did you install the bloatware on the disc with them? bad move. lots of stuff likes to run at start up and lots odf stuff likes to seek things out on the net. disable or uninstall unnecessary apps.

did windows full update before you loaded games and went crazy playing?

is WoW fully updated/patches, etc.?

Since i still raid in wow and with the new X-pac dropped today i will be spending my game time playing it. Also i still have only a 1080p monitor. I planed to upgrade my monitor and video same time in the near future. Lastly i wanted to save money and get a case labs and custom loop and is about 1500$. Thanks for the respone.

-The Video was set to auto which auto selects PCIE. So i set it manually. I went the manually and bios repeatably and all looks fine

- Unplugged the video and reinstall

- Under device manager i see no conflicts

- I downloaded the lastest drivers before my hardware arrrived. However i was force to install NIC via disc and maybe other southbride audio

- everthing is updated

Thanks for ressponse

Furthermore  today i experienced my monitor got no response and went blank like the pc was turned off, then came back on.. Same problems still exist. Next under event viewer i get a lot of warnings with this in it "nvlddmkm".

I think my options are try and update firmware VBIOS or time for new card. Anyone have a solution under windows 10 to update firmware? Please see my original top post for problem for update bios. Thanks

Update. I since unplugged my video and now using the integrated video from my Intel CPU and connected it via HDMI cable to my monitor. New problems. Now i keep getting a black screen for 1-2 seconds. I did some research and found that i;m not the only one with this problem. I have the latest drivers and even try the beta driver with no fix:(. Man my luck is down right now and i;m frustrated at this point. Not sure if anyone can help with my new problem but would like some advice on getting a new GPU.

Next, whats the point of intels integrated graphic? Does it help with dual monitors or have some point? It can;t run WOW a 12 year old game at high settings and far from maxed out settings. I didn't play with the options but everything looks like trash the colors and the choppy lag make me want to throw it away. After my google search on the intel graphic and seeing how many driver updates i question if intel made a mistake here. Intel is the top name in computing and hurt there rep with this crap. Soz to get salty but Come on.
