I just put together a PC this is my 4th one i put together. when i press power the fan leds flash and then turn off nothing else happens. then i need to turn the psu off and on for it to even do that again. i did have to use a different 4pin cpu power connector from evga and its a corsair psu, i lost the 4 pin for it.

i  don't know what you are asking

I think he means whether the RAM sticks are properly fitted in their slots, and whether you have tried using only one stick of RAM at a time, to test for a faulty stick (assuming you have more than one).

Since one (out of many) possible cause for this are shorts and problems with power delivery, I would double check everything is plugged where it is supposed to, and there is nothing conductive loose in the case (it's unlikely, but it's a start to stay on the safe side).

After that, you can try removing non-essential components, like a dedicated GPU or hard drives, and see if the minimal setup POSTs, and if so add 1 at a time.

Every cable is where it should be and the GPU has 2x 8pin connected?

ok so i unplugged the 4 pin connector that was from evga power supply (i have a corsair) and now things powered up but im not getting at signal from to the monitor

I don't think you can get the computer to work without the CPU plug. However, this could be an indication that the wiring at the PSU end of the cable is different between evga and corsair?

Also, are you sure the 4 pin was plugged in the right PSU slot? (is it a fully modular PSU? Your part list has a Rosewill PSU, not Corsair)

Good idea.

It seems that the corsair PSU has interchangeable PCIe and CPU cables (at least the slots are jointly labeled), is that the case for the evga too? It could be that the wiring is different.
