Cannot install OS

After building a new PC i started it up after connecting all of the cables and for a few seconds a weird mixture of colours pops up and then disappears. It then uses the boot USB I have windows 10 on. It gets to the windows symbol and then has the spinning orbs and then after some time it just goes black. Im not sure but i think it might be the hard drive as the HDD led goes solid red occasionally.It is possible to get into the bios though.

Yes the monitor works fine.

The monitor that i am using says dvi instead of hdmi though, i might try a different cable.
