yeah, but the gigabyte board has "Dual-Bios", but is it worth it?

It just means that there is two bios so in case if one of them has a problem, the other one can take over. It's not really that important unless you like to mess with the bios

Desktop: i7-6700K / Asus Z170 S / H100i V2 / LPX 2400Mhz 16GB / 960 EVO 250GB / 2x 860 EVO 500GB / RM750i  / NZXT H440 XB271H + Z22n Monitors

Laptop: Thinkpad T450s / i7-5600U / 12GB / 860 EVO 500GB

Yup, plus the asus board has more usb and sata ports. It even supports sata express

two things that stands out with the GigaByte board

  • dual Intel NICs; if you're actually gonna need them
  • USB type C

the ASUS board has more power phases but, since it's not a OC board ... why?!?! I'm not even sure you can mess with the Vcore

He probably won't be doing alot of overclocking on a ITX board, as for USB type C it is a 5gbps type C port not those fancy thunderbolt supported ones so I don't really see the advantage of the gigabyte one, not to mention its slightly more expensive

I wanted to reply a while back but LTT forum maintenance ate my reply

he won't be doing any OCing, since it's not a Z chipset

the ~10$ price diff ... yes, I would pay for the 2 NICs and the type C (even if it might not carry TB) - a certified USB type A to type C cable is ~10$
