Hello!

I am looking into purchasing a new laptop/notebook for around $1500, I am willing to go higher. It will be used for school work and YouTube and occasional gaming ( CS:GO ) when away from my main workstations. I have 2 needs: that it be light enough to carry in my backpack, and that it has a 1440p display. I am looking into the following laptops:

The New Razer Blade - $2199.99

The MacBook Pro  - $1500 to $2200

Asus ROG GL502VS - $1699.00

I like all of the above! Please let me know.

Many thanks,
Richard

No. Just not apple. Go with the ASUS ROG looks great. 1070 gpu should be capable of everything. But if you only game cs go then that would be way overkill

May I ask why not Apple? I own an iMac 5K and it's a phenomenal computer, macOS is amazing as well. I use it as one of my main workstations apart from my Windows rig. I really like macOS and that's the only reason the Macbook Pro showed up on that list.  I like the Asus ROG one due to design and I like the Razer one due to design as well. I'm really on the bridge about these laptops/notebooks and will probably end up waiting for WWDC ( Apple's Developer Conference ) and hope for a new Macbook to be released, then I'll go from there!

WWDC already occurred in June. Right now nobody knows when Apple wants to release their new Macbooks. They might even be waiting for Kaby Lake. Nobody knows.

There are 3 WWDCs per year. Waiting for the one in September. I believe the one in September is called WWDC, might be wrong though.

It's hard to find 1440p display panels on notebooks now, you gotta wait awhile more.
