SO I am really freaking out right now. I just got an LED strip for my case, and the one of the strips managed to hit my Asus Z97-AR mobo. It was only on there long enough to restart the system. It made a bad smell and a little bity spark direcly on the board. I don't have a mobo speaker. It boots just fine except there is no display. I reinstalled both my 970 and Ram, and I even tried the onboard graphics. No screen whatsoever. Please help.. I am only 14 so my computer is literally the only physical thing I have besides my laptop and phone. Its estimated worth is $1500. Thanks

As a last measure, just take it and unplug everything. Let it sit for a day with no power in it at all. When you do RMA the board, call ASUS directly and play dumb. Emailing them takes an eternity and a half. Just call, get it done in a hour and don't give away what you did. Tell them it just stoped working. It will cost like $10 to ship. Yes I know it sucks, but better than getting a brand new board. Use the box the board came in to ship it to them. Not the full box , but the smaller one the the board was physically in.

Just sent it in for RMA. I know Asus is good with their customers, so I think i am good to go. I pretty sure my GPU survived, but I will have to do further testing. My RAM lived along with my Storage devices. I can't test my CPU because that was my only 1511 socket motherboard. I have heard that its pretty hard to kill a CPU, so I am pretty confident. Thanks for asking. Any other input? I also have this really crap computer (its really old), but yesterday i turned on once, but I had to restart. After that it doesn't post. Today I tried again, same story. What the heck?
