Hello this is my first time building a computer for my cameras. I've have bought multiple dvr and all have cramped out from high demand of 24/7, and network streaming. I want the computer to be able to get all cameras, be able to view through my phone tablet other pc, and be able to run small servers.

I can't really find a decent cctv pci card so I was hoping the community could help me out I need a 16ch card and that'd be awsome.

Here is a link to the computer I put together

The company I work for (among other things) manages surveillance systems for apartment complexes. We primarily use IP cameras, but whenever we have to capture analog cameras we use IP network encoders instead of capture cards or other solutions that are connected directly to the server. The fact that the video streams are already in a compressed format when they get to the server means the server doesn't have to do anything except store the video - much easier than having to encode raw analog data.

The encoders we use are made by Axis, who is a leader in the IP camera market. Basically to make their encoders, they rip out the digital part of their cameras, and put 4 or more sets of that circuitry into a single unit. http://www.axis.com/us/en/products/video-encoders There certainly are other companies that make competing products, I am only able to recommend what I have used myself.

As for software of the server, we are using a modified version of ZoneMinder, with a custom built frontend server. ZoneMinder isn't the easiest to setup and use, but even without all the work my company has put into our version, I would still prefer ZoneMinder over other options.

Looking to buy GTX690, other multi-GPU cards, or single-slot graphics cards:

I can second this.

We had an old piece of crap 8-channel analog CCTV system w/ digital DVR. The DVR crapped out, and we replaced it with an AXIS Server (A rebranded Dell Workstation Tower), along with 2x 4-channel CCTV-IP Media Encoders. Each encoder had 4x CCTV cameras hooked in, and then output over Ethernet directly to the Server.

Just a heads up: AXIS can be DAMN EXPENSIVE, but they are the "Cisco" or "IBM" of Security Camera systems. They're the best, and demand the price that comes with it.

For Sale: Meraki Bundle

iPhone Xr 128 GB Product Red - HP Spectre x360 13" (i5 - 8 GB RAM - 256 GB SSD) - HP ZBook 15v G5 15" (i7-8850H - 16 GB RAM - 512 GB SSD - NVIDIA Quadro P600)

We're happy to pay Axis for their cameras, encoders, etc, but as a service company that does all our work in networking and custom servers, we really balk at the cost of the Axis servers. But I'm sure they are great for anyone who doesn't want to manage a custom solution. And our custom solution is better suited to the needs of our customer base (the apartment complex owners and managers)

Because we are a Public Library, we're too small fry to have a custom solution created. Too expensive.

You can of course use any hardware for the physical server, but even the server software itself is pretty pricey :P
