Troubles with new ram

Hi guys, 

 

I'm upgrading my old system and bought a new kit of 2x4gb corsair ram. After the upgrage the pc won't post at all, I've tried to reset the cmos by both taking out the battery and using the jumper on the mobo. 

The computer will post with the old ram though. 

Mobo - p5g41t m lx 

ram - corsair 2x4gb ddr3 1333mhz CMV8GX3M2A1333C9 

 

any ideas for solving this?

 I don't have another machine to try it on. I'm trying to make it work before sending it back for the warranty.
