Hi guys,

I am building my first build and I want a APU that is about 50-60 bucks so I can spend more money on ram and maybe even a small HDD(the ram needs to be faster because the graphics card is not dedicated). So my question is, what APU should I get and what RAM I should get.(I have a computer that I can use that is better than this btw..)

Jimmy

What is your total build budget, and do you need an OS, monitor, keyboard, and/or mouse? Also, location?

I would still love to know, as if you have a parts list to buy, maybe we could help you get more for your money.

If you are upgrading your current machine, or do you have parts lying around? If so, what do you have, what do you need, and what is the budget for these parts?

For around $60, there isn't much. Save more money and buy an A8 or A10.

I have the a6 5400k in my HTPC. I was able to overclock it to 4.2GHz on stock voltage. It's good for basic things like web browsing and watching HD movies. If your'e just looking for something simple it will suffice. At least try to get the corsair cx430 and some high bandwidth ram, though. Also if you want usb 3.0 and sata 3 support go with at least an a75 chipset.  GL

Corsair 250d - - Delidded i7 4770k @ 4.4GHz (1.15v) - - Asus Maximus VI Impact - - Corsair h100i

Asus DirectCU II OC GTX780 - - NZXT x41 & G10 w/ Push/Pull Noctua IndustrialPPC's - - Corsair ax760i

16GB Corsair Vengeance 2133Mhz  - - Samsung 840 pro (boot) - - Samsung Evo (gaming) - - WD green HDD (data)
