If you didn't touch the fan curve, the fans shouldn't spin at idle, which can lead to temps in the high 40s. But, yeah, it's a bit high if the fans are spinning

Alright, so then newer cards, started in the 9xx series where the fans wont start up until the temps reach a certain threshold, usually 60c
