On my relatively new pc I've noticed that during audio intense scenes in GTAV,AC4,FC4 the audio+video stutters.

Sometimes it's really light but sometimes it's rythmical (every 2seconds). The whole stutter lasts for like half a second.

I've tried reinstalling my audio/video drivers. I've also tried uninstalling AMD HDMI audio drivers.

Do you know what could cause this ?

CPU: i3 6100

GPu: RX 480 8GB

PSU: Corsair CX450M

MOBO: MSI B150M Mortar

thanks for help

Usually that's DPC latency. Latencymon can help you check what's causing it. Usually a network driver of some sort.

Honestly, probably nothing. But DPC latency is within your system itself. It is usually noticed as audio or video stutter and typically is attributed to a bad network driver. Sometimes bad audio drivers. Use LatencyMon to check the DPC latency on your computer.

@jedinym I had this problem on my laptop before. I had to remove a certain driver I believe. Something with ndis.sys. But, eventually I reinstalled windows. Also, do you have more than 4GB of RAM or a reference RX 480? GTA 5 doesn't do well with little RAM and the reference RX 480 can throttle. On AC4, it's a decent bit CPU bound and may need some Frame Rate Target Control to sort out.

Try out some V-Sync, FRTC, and LatencyMon. And in GTA5 don't use AMD CHS for shadows.

@Funtron5000 I have 8Gbs of RAM. And I have a reference 480 but because of custom fan curve and increased power limit the card doesn't throttle. Did removing the driver solved the issue for you ? I don't feel like reinstalling windows if there is other option.

@jedinym

It helped, but didn't fix it. At the time, this was the release of Windows 10 last year. So, it was not good back then. Hopefully it's easily fixed. But, in games you can use Riva tuner, which comes with Afterburner to help you monitor your CPU cores usage. You night find that your settings in games need adjustment to smooth things out.

So, hopefully an easy driver fix or just some in game settings adjustment will get things going smoothly again.

PS: I'll be away until around 13:00 EST
