Good build.

I wouldn't get quite that high of a wattage of a PSU unless you're considering the possibility of going SLI in the future. If you know for a fact that you won't, save yourself $20-$50 and go for the 550 W model.

If you do plan on going SLI, I'd get an i7, as you will most likely be CPU-bound at 1080p if you weren't already. In fact, you probably still will be.

"Computer games use up to 4 cores" is just funny, considering games use up to 8 cores,6 cores depending on the game

That's funny. Back in about 2014, the Intel Pentium G3258 Anniversary Edition, being the only unlocked dual-core processor that Intel provided, was a pretty big craze. However, even with it overclocked to the moon, an i3 still performed similar or even better in a lot of titles simply due to the fact that it had more threads for the game to work with. Today, in the middle of 2016, some of the most recent games are starting to have a sizeable difference between an i5 and an i7 outside of 4K which is purely GPU bound in most cases.

Games might still perform pretty well even with a quad core due to the fact that the i5 is one of the best bang-for-the-buck processors out there, and game developers would be nuts to not support it, but I'd look out for whatever AMD is cooking up with Zen, as this might shake things up a little in the next few years if AMD does it correctly.

Did not see that until I refreshed the page. In that case, I'd get an i7. In most cases, a dual-GPU setup will be held back by any CPU you throw at it at 1080p, so having the best CPU will ultimately determine the framerate.

I'd just look at both features and price if you're getting a Z170 motherboard. If there's nothing you want on the more expensive one, and the cheaper one is well-reviewed, get the cheaper one.

edit: from the looks of things, the MSI board has better average review scores and costs around the same. I'd get that one.
