You need to be more specific

-What is the 500w PSU? name? 500Watt corsair does not mean anything

-What resolution do you want to run?

-What games do you play?

Corsair CX500, 500 Watt voeding. That is my the PSU

The resolution is 1444p or 1080p.

And the games that I play are fallout 4, gta5, the witcher3, bioshock, just cause 3 ( if it wants to work, that is).

he dont need to downgrade his gpu, also he doesnt need 16gb of ram unless if he is gonna edit, render or something like that. Just cheked and only games like MMO will bottleneck a bit but you will not realize the difference.

Remember to quote me (or someone else), otherwise we won't going to recieve your answers...

The Corsair CX500 is a really bad PSU,replace it,in my signature you will see "PSU Tier List" go there and pick anything from Tier 1 to Tier 2 (Tier 3 minimum)

I was planning on changing to 16 gigs but I was not sure, and I don't really have a good experience with amd.

mistake, 16gigs instead of 116gigs

I can always upgrade the RAM when needed. And i'm sticking with the GTX 1070.

gtx 1070 is a great choice for 1440p, but too much for 1080p. If you are gonna stick with 1080p, gtx 1060 is good enough to hit 60+fps in most games in max setting.

Also, if you want to check the full compatibility, you should list your case, cooler, and motherboard.

I'm still lookinng for a good motherboard. The case is the cooler master master case por 5. And the cooler Cooler Master Hyper TX3 EVO, CPU-cooler.

I suggest you to buy ASUS Z170-A. It's not expensive, and it has easy overclocking tool. That's my current motherboard, and I have no problem with it at all. Also the cooler and case is compatible, but I suggest you to buy a better cpu cooler.
