I need to upgrade from 6gb to at least 16gb RAM, and am seeking some advice.  The motherboard supports DDR3 up to 1333, I think, and it has an i7 960 CPU. I know it's an older motherboard, but thought you guys could help out.

Do I need to upgrade anything else or can I just go with the RAM for now (more upgrades in the future).

GTX 560 GPU

Windows 7

Thanks

That GPU is ancient. Get a used 970 (dirt cheap).

6gb should be ok for a lot of games.  The graphics would hold you back long before 6gb of ram.  Tho ram is much cheaper.  Go to the manufacturer page for your motherboard.  There will probably be a list of tested compatible ram to make things much less stressful for you.

There's something cool here - you just can't see it.
