Cablemod LED Strip not working

So I just bought and installed the WIDEBEAM RGB LED kit (RF version) from Cablemod. It lit up red but when I went to change the colour (using the included remote), it didn't work. I tried changing the battery in the controller, but still nothing. I suspect I might have connected the RF receiver in the wrong way, so if someone who has already done it could run me threw the installation process that would be great. Plz help.
