New headphone/headset

Go to solution Solved by MayflowerElectronics,

What do the pioneer SE-A1000's look like price wise over there?

Anything from sennheiser/AKG/Beyerdynamic is a good shot.

Hello,

I'm searching for a new headphone or headset because I want a little bit better audioquality.

My budget is around €60. I live in the Netherlands so evryting from audiotechnica is extremely expensive.

I'm wearing a headset for around 3 to 4 hours a day, so they need to be comfortable.

I found SteelSeries Siberia v2 HyperX edition for around 50 euros and corsair vengeance 1300 for around 60 euros. But I've read that most of the audiophiles prefer headphones over a headset. But I have no idea what headphones are good and what aren't. For example if found beyerdynamic DTX 910 for around €70 but I don't know if it is a good brand or not.

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Prof7

I need one too so I'll see what people say. I went through 3 siberia V2's and all broke in the same fashion. The ear cup stopped working. The same side on all 3 and also the microphone stopped working.

You could get these for headphones, and this for a mic. Mic seems to be out of stock currently on both Newegg and Amazon.

You need to read, he's in the Netherlands, they don't have newegg over there and audio technica is too expensive in EU countries.

Yeah, I would probably pick them up. Ask @ShearMe for comfort, but I'm assuming he's going to say they are fine.

Those are probably your best bet, I recommend spending a couple extra euro's and picking them up. Pick up a zalman clip on mic too, you don't need anything more than that.

Oh, sorry, didn't know it was so expensive there. I guess he could go with the SE-A1000s you suggested if they have a good price.

Spoiler

Yeah I saw those a few minutes ago, but if the break - I don't excpect that to happen - I don't want to go through a german service because my german langue is.... well let's call it bad - even worse then my english -.

Are beyerdynamic DTX 910 any good? They are around 70 euros and they look comfortable.

If you are willing to pay for better support, buy them from here:

Can't comment on the DTX 910's, haven't used them, but Beyerdynamic has a good reputation. Love my DT770's and my dads DT990's. Can you maybe try them out?

So look for the Pioneer's wherever you're looking at headphones? It's not like they're only available on at the link Mr. Mayflower provided....

I know. But the cheapest I can find them here is around 80 euros. :(

Maybe I order them from amazon.com.

Is the audioquality from the pioneer SE-A1000 that good since almost everyone recommends them?

I just constantly recommend them because they're so gahd dang cheap over here. I'm having a look at Thomann right now to see if I can find something for you.

Any of the below look appealing?

Both the Beyerdynamic DTX-910 and the Audio Technica ATH-T400 look very nice. But I don't know which is better for me.

I want them mainly for music listening, mainly 90's rock.

Another question, is it recommended that I use an amp for the pioneers or is onboard just fine?

They are 45 Ω, my current headset is around 30, onboard is just fine for them.

My DT770's are 80 Ohms and they are loud enough at 50% volume, so you should be all good.

If they really ARENT loud enough, you could get a cheap amp like the Fiio E6 or something, its like ~$10 in the US
