Hi everyone!!!

Yesterday I've finished building my pc, I've downloaded the latesticon1.png drivers from Gigabyte and Catalyst Control Center and I wanted to test it so I downloaded the MSI Afterburner and Kombustor.

Once I start it, my 7970 it's detected but I've got no info... I mean no Tº reading, no core Voltage info no Memory Clock info... :(

It's my first pcicon1.png build and it's the first time I'm trying to use Afterburner so may be the solution it's quite easy but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I will apreciate any help. (Aps, english isn't my mothertongue so sorry if I written something wrong).

My config: Asrock z77 extrem4, 3770k, Gigabyte 797OC, Aerocool 650W 80+.

Thank you! :)

The following link is the method I use for overclocking my 7970 with Afterburner.

Hi! Thank you for your fast response :)

I've followed step by step that guide and now I'm getting info, but I'm still with no Core Voltage info. Is it normal?

The Driver Version It's 9.14.10.0984, the CCC 13.9 and MSI Afterburner 3.0.0 Beta 14.

Here's a quote from the link above. You may need to check the following information out to see if your card is voltage locked.

Next we need to find out if your GPU is voltage locked. If you don't see an option to change the voltage in afterburner like in the picture below and you have ticked 'Unlock voltage control & monitoring' in afterburner then your card is voltage locked. Or afterburner is unable to change the voltage on your card.

One other way to check if your card is voltage locked, and a much more reliable way is to use GPU-Z which we downloaded earlier. Simply run GPU-Z, go to the sensors tab at the top. At the bottom you should some voltages. The main one to look for is VDDC, this is the main core voltage for your card. MVDDC relates to memory voltage.

Your card should be running in a low clock powerplay state, so the clocks and voltage will be low. What we need to do is trigger 3d clocks to ensure you can make a change to the voltage in afterburner and then see if the voltage bumps shows up in the GPU-Z sensors tab. If it doesn't then you're voltage locked. To do this we will use the Basic Preset on Unigine Valley.

Edit: Found a local LTT topic confirming that the Gigabyte 7970 OC may be voltage locked: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/9962-is-the-gigabyte-7970-voltage-locked/
