Hello, I am in the process of upgrading my old gaming PC to a new, much more powerful PC. I have been through a few hiccups along the way, and I am almost finished. I fixed the drivers for my internet adapter, rewired everything multiple times, and made a last minute trip to best buy for a clean hard drive. Now, the final (hopefully) issue is moving my user data and legitimate copy of windows from my old 1 TB hard drive to my new 2 TB hard drive. Normally, I would clone one, but the issue is that I cannot overwrite the new one, because it has drivers that make my mobo work. Or at least so I've been told. My goal is to move my old user data, game data, mods, documents, movies, pictures, and programs over to my new HDD which has all the drivers for my new hardware. The issue is that I have no clue how to go about that.

Please help, I'll be eternally grateful.

Have you been using your new drive at all yet?

If not, just clone as you originally suggested.

There shouldn't be any drivers or anything installed on it if you haven't used it yet.

I should clarify. I needed a clean hard drive for the new build. So I installed a temporary version of windows onto my new hard drive, and I installed all the drivers for my motherboard, wifi card, and graphics card. I also have google now. If I cloned everything onto the new one, would I screw anything up?

No, I don't believe so.

I'd back everything you need up just in case though.

(Sorry for the slow reply, been on holiday).

Thank you for your help. I ended up changing the boot order and it worked. The only issue I came across was that my copy of Windows had deactivated itself. I was able to retrieve the key with a program from nirsoft, however.
