My mouse pointer has gone Frankenstein on me and I got no clue why... I cant pin point when this started though. I thought it was the GTX 960 but it does this with my RX 480 aswell. It changes at random times too

I have tried all of the below:

  • Changing the primary display
  • Changing the plug the primary display is on the GPU
  • Reinstalling drivers
  • Burning the PC (jk)

The only things that fixed it was

  • Putting the PC to sleep/shutdown/restarting it

Here's a picture of what it looks like

I have a 2 monitor setup and for some reason my second monitor displays it normally...

And for some reason its a black box with white dots when I write...

Anyone know how to fix this???

A lot of people associate that problem with certain anti-virus programs. Might want to try uninstalling it for a bit and seeing if it stops.
Which AV do you use?

Norton AV. I already had to wipe my system recently after the Windows Anniversary update broke everything so that would of uninstalled it... well not all of it but most.

yea probably not that then. I used to have the issue, but only the vertical lines. Can't remember what fixed it tho to be honest I think i just did a system wipe.

might want to invest in a small boot drive, it'd be useful for situations like this lol

I never understood boot drives... Are they for just the OS or do they store the programs and the OS on them too?

They hold everything you need for booting so, OS and programs you need to boot up fast/first. You can also put programs you need to run fast. The secondary drive in this case would carry secondary programs, Steam, games, pictures, media, etc but no OS. Stuff you dont need all the time fast. You could get a large SSD if you got the $$ and just put everything on it.
