My friend has just got his Corsair H90 and a AMD FX8350, along with his other components (happy days!).

We've just assembled it and powered it on, and it works. However, I popped into the BIOS to check the watercooler is working, and I suspect it isn't. We left the system running for 5 minutes, and the CPU temp has gone up to 45C, and its not even doing anything.

He's installed it all correctly. Pump, radiator, fans, etc. The pump has been plugged into every 3/4 pin header, but it still doesn't work. I've even tried downclocking the CPU to 3.4GHz (4GHz stock), but still no joy.

Any suggestions?

It's working as intended. Water cooling isn't magic, a single fat-rad won't yield 30C at full load.

It is only a single 140mm rad, it will perform the same as a big air cooler will, if you want low temps go for a 240mm rad or bigger, plus the 8350 is not a cool chip in the first place.
