Can you guys help me determine how much of a bottleneck this system has,and what i can do to minimize it as much as possible.

Ok i am building a used parts build for my brother in law.

I know i am going to have some bottlenecking, but i would like to try to get rid of as much as i can.

My brother in law always leaves the game settings alone, and all he cares about is being able to play any game over 30fps.

Here is what is system is:,but not currently in it's final form.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 (Will be upgraded to an E5450 and plan to overclock it)

CM Tx3(will be upgraded, but not sure to what yet.)

Gigabyte board  (Will be changed to an Asus P5Q Turbo)

8GB of DDR2 800Mhz

Asus GTX 680 2GB

Corsair CX600M 600w PSU

1280x1024 monitor only used for testing it will be used with a 1680x1050 monitor.

Now in it's current setup i ran some benchmarks to get an idea of how bad the bottlenecks are.

here  are the results of the benchmarks, before i ran them i went into the drivers and slide the image settings to performance.

If it help i remember after the GTA 5  benchmark the GPU usage had not gone over 80%.

I know that overclocking the final CPU will help, but how much will i need, also is there settings in the drivers or in geforce experience that i can use along side the overclock to help get rid of as much of the bottleneck as possible.

Thank you guy for all the help.

Well you have to compare it to benchmarks with a 680, and something like a 6950k if you want to see what the gpu should be performing at.

nothing in the drivers will reduce the bottleneck besides you slowing the card down which will hurt fps.
